Disabled

The NRC is committed to increasing the number of NRC staff with disabilities and ensuring that all employees reach their full potential.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC or Commission) issued its final rule to amend the regulations that require federal agencies to engage in affirmative action for individuals with disabilities. These changes clarify the obligations that the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 imposes on federal agencies, as employers, that are over and above the obligation not to discriminate on the basis of disability.

Through effective recruitment, hiring, and retention efforts we work to identify and remove barriers to employment and promotion within the organization for individuals with disabilities. We also work to increase knowledge and awareness of issues related to employment of people with disabilities.
