Mr. Justin Roberts (IA-19-007)
On September 5, 2019, the NRC issued Mr. Justin Roberts an Order prohibiting his involvement in NRC-licensed activities for a period of one year, from the effective date of the Order, for engaging in deliberate misconduct in violation of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 70.10(a)(1). Mr. Roberts, a former assembler employed by Enrichment Technology _ United States at the Louisiana Energy Services (LES) uranium enrichment facility in Eunice, NM, caused the licensee, LES, to be in violation of multiple requirements of 10 CFR Part 95, Facility Security Clearance and Safeguarding of National Security Information and Restricted Data. During this one-year prohibition, Mr. Roberts will be prohibited from engaging in NRC-licensed activities that are conducted pursuant to a specific or general license issued by the NRC. Mr. Roberts cannot perform, supervise, assist, or otherwise engage in any licensed activity in NRC’s jurisdiction. In addition, for a period of one year after the one-year period of prohibition has expired, Mr. Roberts shall, within 20 days of acceptance of his first employment offer involving NRC-licensed activities or becoming involved in NRC-licensed activities, provide to the NRC the name, address, and telephone number of the employer or the entity where he is, or will be, involved in NRC-licensed activities. In the notification, Mr. Roberts shall include a statement of his commitment to compliance with regulatory requirements and the basis for why the Commission should have confidence that he will now comply with applicable NRC requirements.
Mr. Kristian Meyer (IA-19-002)
On August 8, 2019, the NRC issued a Notice of Violation to Mr. Kristian Meyer, Vice President of Dead Ringer, LLC, for a Severity Level III violation involving deliberate misconduct that caused his employer Dead Ringer LLC, to be in violation of NRC requirements. Mr. Meyer deliberately distributed products containing radioactive material without the required NRC licenses and sealed source and device evaluation. Specifically, between May 2017 and January 2018, Mr. Meyer distributed gun sights containing tritium via web site sales without obtaining the required NRC licenses and sealed source and device evaluations.
Mr. Jesse Erdle (IA-17-043)
On August 8, 2019, the NRC issued a Notice of Violation to Mr. Jesse Erdle, Chief Executive Officer and President of Dead Ringer, LLC, for a Severity Level III violation involving deliberate misconduct that caused his employer Dead Ringer LLC, to be in violation of NRC requirements. Mr. Erdle deliberately failed to obtain the required NRC licenses and sealed source and device evaluation to import and distribute products containing radioactive material. Specifically, between May 2017 and January 2018, Mr. Erdle acquired and imported gun sights containing tritium and distributed those gun sights via web site sales without obtaining the required NRC licenses and sealed source and device evaluations.
Mr. Thomas Summers (IA-18-040)
On September 12, 2019, the NRC issued an Order prohibiting Mr. Thomas Summers from involvement in NRC-licensed activities. Mr. Summers deliberately caused his former employer, Florida Power and Light (FPL) to be in violation of 10 CFR 50.7 and 50.9 when he willfully discriminated against a contract employee and submitted incomplete and inaccurate information to FPL to influence an NRC proceeding. Specifically, Mr. Summers will be prohibited from any involvement in NRC-licensed activities for a period of five years and, thereafter, he will be required to notify the NRC within 20 days following acceptance of his first employment offer involving NRC-licensed activities.
Randy Bethea (IA-18-043)
On February 13, 2019, the NRC issued an Order prohibiting Mr. Randy Bethea from involvement in NRC-licensed activities. Mr. Bethea deliberately caused his former employer, Mistras Group, Inc., to be in violation of 10 CFR 30.34(c), when he radiographed his own hand. Specifically, Mr. Bethea will be prohibited from any involvement in NRC-licensed activities for a period of one year, and for one year after the one year prohibition has expired, he will be required to notify the NRC, within 20 days following acceptance of his first employment offer involving NRC licensed activities. In addition, for a period of three years from the effective date of the Order, Mr. Bethea will be prohibited from leading, supervising, or directing radiographic operations involving NRC licensed activities.
