Upon review, the OIG may take any one of the following actions if your concern is a specific allegation of fraud, waste, abuse, misconduct, or mismanagement:

  1. Open an investigation, audit, or evaluation.

  2. Refer the matter to NRC management for appropriate review and action.

  3. Refer the allegation to another Federal agency.

If your allegation lacks specificity, we may close it or hold it in abeyance until further, specific details are reported.

Due to Privacy Act and OIG Policy restrictions, we will not proactively provide status updates on your complaint, but an OIG Criminal Investigator or Auditor may contact you regarding your complaint if you have provided your contact information. While you may contact us to inquire about the status of a complaint, we may only inform you about how your complaint was dispositioned and whether we opened an investigation. If we opened an investigation, we can tell you if it is still open or now closed, but we will provide no other information.

Should you have any other questions/concerns regarding this matter, please contact the OIG Hotline at 1-800-233-3497 or at OIGHOTLINE.Resource@nrc.gov.
