Ching Ng
Ching Ng is a Reliability and Risk Analyst in the Division of Risk Assessments in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation. He performed state-of-the-art probabilistic risk assessments (PRA) to determine the significance of inspection findings and emergent safety issues. Dr. Ng specializes in risk assessment methods associated with external hazards such as seismic and high wind. Previously, Dr. Ng was a technical reviewer in the Division of License Renewal in which he defended the staff’s positions to the NRC’s Atomic Safety and Licensing Board in the Indian Point License Renewal hearing for two safety contentions.
Dr. Ng holds a Bachelor of Science degree, a Master of Science degree, and a Ph. D degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley; where he performed research in the area of structural vibration.
