Pamela Gorman Prochaska
Pam Gorman is Director of Nuclear Policy and Strategy for Xcel Energy. She began her career with Xcel Energy over 30 years ago in the operations department at the Prairie Island nuclear plant. After 10 years in operations Pam spent time in various plant positions including special projects, regulatory and employee concerns, communications and training.
She then spent time on the operations side of the company where she was manager of Community and Government Relations until she came back to nuclear about four years ago. In her current role Pam interfaces with governmental and industry organizations that enact, implement or influence policies that impact Xcel Energy’s nuclear power plants and used nuclear fuel storage. She first became engaged with public policy in 1994 when the Minnesota legislature debated the future of nuclear power in the state and approved dry cask storage at Prairie Island.
Pam is a graduate of the University of Minnesota- Duluth where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Secondary Math Education.
