Mark Sartain
Mark D. Sartain is vice-president-Nuclear Engineering and Fleet Support. His organization is responsible for all facets of engineering support of the Dominion Energy fleet, and the Dominion Energy fleet response to requirements arising from the Fukushima accident. He also serves as vice chairman of the Dominion Energy Nuclear offsite safety review committee.
Mr. Sartain began is career at Dominion Energy as a mechanical design engineer at Virginia Power in 1981. Over the years, he has held numerous leadership positions, including supervisor-Civil/Mechanical Design Engineering at North Anna Power Station; manager-North Anna Site Engineering; director-Nuclear Safety & Licensing at North Anna; director-Corporate Nuclear Engineering and director-Nuclear Engineering at Millstone Power Station. In 2012, Mr. Sartain became director-in-charge of Nuclear Support Services, responsible for nuclear security, emergency preparedness, training and licensing for the nuclear fleet. In March 2013, he became director-Corporate Excellence Support & Oversight (Millstone) at Innsbrook. Mr. Sartain was promoted to vice president-Nuclear Engineering in 2013 and assumed his current post in January 2017.
Mr. Sartain received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Nuclear Society, and a registered professional engineer in Virginia. He received a Senior Reactor Operator Certification at North Anna in 2002 and is a graduate of Dominion Energy's "Developing the Leader" program.
