Christopher Regan
Mr. Regan is the Deputy Director for the Division of Fuel Management in the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s (NRC) Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguard (NMSS). In this capacity he is responsible for the development and implementation the agency's regulatory, licensing, and inspection programs for fuel cycle facilities and the safe and secure storage of nuclear reactor spent fuel and the domestic and international transportation of radioactive materials.
Mr. Regan has over 28 years of leadership and technical experience in the commercial nuclear power industry joining the NRC in 1991. While at the NRC Mr. Regan has served in several senior executive positions responsible for operating reactor and materials engineering, research, construction projects, information technologies, risk assessment and program management and licensing. In his leadership positions Mr. Regan has leveraged his extensive and diverse prior experience managing staff responsible for decommissioning trust fund reviews and financial analyses and the operating reactor inspection and oversight program, and as an NRC inspector at the San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant, a mechanical engineer and thermal performance and containment analyst, a senior project manager, and an enforcement specialist.
Mr. Regan received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. degree in Engineering Management from the University of Maryland.
