Jerry Bonanno
Jerry Bonanno is Associate General Counsel at the Nuclear Energy Institute. In this role, he provides counsel on a wide range of nuclear reactor licensing and regulatory issues, as well as a variety of corporate and legislative matters. Jerry has also recently served as Senior Director, Regulatory Affairs in NEI's Generation and Suppliers Division. In that role, he was responsible for leading efforts to establish industry's regulatory priorities and develop strategic solutions to regulatory challenges.
Before joining NEI in 2008, Mr. Bonanno was an attorney in the Office of General Counsel at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, where he counseled the NRC staff on all facets for rulemaking and policy development and represented the NRC staff in adjudicatory hearings before the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board and Commission.
Mr. Bonanno earned his Juris Doctor degree from Seton Hall University School of Law, and also holds a Master of Public Health and Bachelor of Science degrees from Rutgers University. Jerry is licensed to practice in New Jersey and Washington, D.D., and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appears for the Second, Third and D.C. Circuits.
