Andrea Veil
Ms. Veil joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 1992 as an intern in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation and progressed to the position of senior materials engineer. Since that time, she has held a number of positions including a Congressional Fellowship on Capitol Hill. Since joining the Senior Executive Service (SES) in 2011, Ms. Veil has served in a number of senior management positions, including Associate Director for Human Resources Operations and Policy, Office of the Chief Human Capital Officer; Deputy Division Director, Division of Construction Inspection and Operational Programs, Office of New Reactors; Acting Assistant for Operations, Office of the Executive Director for Operations; Executive Director, Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards; Deputy Director, Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research; and her most recent position as Deputy Office Director for Engineering, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation. Ms. Veil received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in materials science and engineering from Northwestern University. She is a graduate of the NRC’s SES Candidate Development Program.
