Greg Bowman

Mr. Bowman has served as the deputy director of the Division of Risk Assessment in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) since October 2019.  Mr. Bowman began his career at the NRC in 2002 as a reactor inspector and resident inspector in Region I.  He transferred to NRC Headquarters in 2007, where he served in progressively more responsible positions, including reactor operations engineer in NRR, senior enforcement specialist in the Office of Enforcement, and executive technical assistant in the Office of the Executive Director for Operations.  Mr. Bowman was selected to be the branch chief for the Research and Test Reactors Oversight Branch in 2012 and has held a number of management positions since that time, including branch chief and acting deputy director in NRR’s Japan Lessons Learned Division and Division of Policy and Rulemaking and branch chief for Reactor Assessment and Human Factors Branch in the Division of Inspection and Regional Support in NRR.  Prior to his current position, Mr. Bowman served as the deputy director of the Division of Inspection and Regional Support.  Before joining the NRC, Mr. Bowman spent 4 years as a training engineer and supervisor at the Navy’s Nuclear Power Training Unit in Charleston, SC.
