Janet Schlueter

Ms. Schlueter joined NEI in 2008. She and her staff are responsible for resolving generic regulatory issues impacting the fuel cycle including Accident Tolerant Fuel; training, research and test reactors; low-level waste management; transportation; source security and other materials issues; and radiation protection among others.

Prior to NEI, Ms. Schlueter spent 19 years at NRC where, among other roles, she served for 8 years as Chief of Staff to one NRC Commissioner and one Chairman. She managed the Office of State and Tribal Programs as well as the Yucca Mountain Program.

Prior to NRC, Ms. Schlueter was a radiation protection and health physics consultant after having worked in diagnostic radiology and radiation oncology. She graduated from the Medical College of Virginia and George Washington University in radiation sciences.
