Michelle Bales

Ms. Bales is a Senior Reactor Systems Engineer in the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research at the NRC. Her responsibilities have included research program planning, project management and data evaluation for multiple experimental research programs focused on high burnup fuel behavior. Ms. Bales serves as the USNRC representative to multiple international collaborative research and development programs investigating high burnup fuel behavior, including the Halden Reactor Project in Norway and the Studsvik Cladding Integrity Program in Sweden. She also represents the NRC on the Nuclear Energy Agency's Working Group on Fuel Safety.
