Peyton Doub

Peyton Doub is a Senior Environmental Scientist with over 30 years experience in NEPA and environmental planning, especially in the areas of wetlands, terrestrial ecology, vegetation management, threatened and endangered species, and ecological risk assessment.  He is a Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) and Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) with bachelors and masters degrees in plant ecology.  He has published numerous books and journal articles on environmental issues, and he is a frequent presenter at the National Association of Environmental Professionals.  At NRC, Mr. Doub led the production of updated technical guidance to applicants on ecological background studies (Regulatory Guides 4.11 and 4.24) and contributed to twelve environmental reviews for proposed new reactors and eight final new reactor environmental impact statements (EISs).  He led an effort to simplify NRC's definition of "important species" used in environmental reviews and is currently participating in working groups to streamline NRC's environmental review process for advanced reactors.
