Request for Review of ANFB-10 Critical Power Correlation



Ref.: 1.  Letter, H. D. Curet (SPC) to NRC Document Control Desk,

          "Request for Review of ANFB-10 Critical Power Correlation, ANF-

          1997(P), Revision 0," HDC:97:119, October 30, 1997.



SPC has determined that clarification is needed regarding two lines found

on page 2-9 of the topical report EMF-1997(P).  The two lines that

require clarification are:



     Let H = nodal heated perimeter



         P = nodal wetted perimeter.



The clarification first requires a footnote to the word "nodal" for the

final approved version of the topical report.  Specifically, this

footnote will state:



"The ATRIUM-10 considers two regions for the parameter RATIO, an upper

region and a lower region.  The upper region is treated as one node in

which 83 fueled rods contribute to the heated and wetted perimeter.  The

lower region is treated as one node in which 91 fueled rods contribute to

the heated and wetted perimeter."



Fifteen copies of the edited page 2-9, which includes the incorporation

of changes to clarify the quantitative RATIO for ATRIUM-10 fuel, are

enclosed.  Brackets have been used to mark proprietary material.  The

edited pages will be included in the published (A) version of the

approved topical report.



The affidavit provided with the original topical submittal provides the

necessary information required by 10 CFR 2.790(b) to support the

withholding of the enclosed information from public disclosure.
