DESCRIPTION:
Stiffness analysis reports incorrect reactions under the following circumstances:
1. | More than one loading condition is active. |
2. | At least one active loading condition contains joint loads applied to support joints. |
3. | A statics check failure occurred for at least one of the active loading conditions. |
The incorrect reactions are reported only for the active loading conditions which contain the joint loads applied to support joints.
One work-around is to eliminate the source of the statics check failure(s) if they are caused by some type of structural instability. However, in the event that the statics check failures are due to ordinary computational precision errors, it may be very difficult to eliminate them, in which case another work- around is to perform individual stiffness analyses separately for each loading that caused a statics check failure.

DESCRIPTION:
In the Scope Environment, a window on a plane of finite elements has the following contouring characteristic: when the window contains 10 or less elements, all elements connected to joints in the window are averaged. This leads to erratic results display in a 3-D structure, because elements out of the original plane will be included in the averaging for the contour.
Currently the only work-round is not to view stress contours in a window containing 10 or fewer elements.
