James Stubbins

James Stubbins is Donald Biggar Willett Professor of Engineering in the Department of Nuclear, Plasma and Radiological Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he has been a  faculty member for the past 40 years.  He was Department Head for more than 18 1/2 years before stepping down two and a half years ago. He is also a visiting Professor at Kyusha University in Japan with the International Institute for Carbon Neutral Energy Research. Prior to joining the University of Illinois, he held positions at General Electric, Oxford University in England, and the Kernforschungszentrum (Nuclear Research Center) Karlsruhe, Germany. He received his BS in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Michigan, a MS in Nuclear Engineering and a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Cincinnati.
