Bradley Adams

Bradley J. (Brad) Adams is Engineering Vice President, Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) of the Southern Company and is a member of the SNC management council.

Brad joined SNC in 2011 after 28 years with Exelon Corp. in Illinois. His nuclear career began in 1983 with Commonwealth Edison's nuclear fuel services group and progressed through the years in the areas of fuel design, regulatory assurance, system engineering and work management. In 2007 Brad was appointed site engineering director at the Quad Cities Nuclear Station. In 2008 he was appointed plant manager at Byron Station, a position he held until joining SNC in 2011 as Fleet Operations Support Vice President. In 2013 he assumed his current position as fleet Engineering VP.

Brad was co-chair of an industry working group who in April 2016 submitted the report, Research Development and Demonstration (RD&D) Needs for Light Water Reactor (LWR) Technologies, to the Reactor Technology Subcommittee of the Nuclear Energy Advisory Committee, Office of Nuclear Energy, U.S. Department of Energy. He is executive sponsor of the EPRI Materials Reliability Program (MRP), a member of EPRI's Pressurized Water Reactor Owner's Group (PWROG) Executive Committee and a member of EPRI's Nuclear Power Council (NPC). He spearheads SNC's fleet digitalization initiative and is considered an industry leader - along with executives at Exelon, Duke and Dominion - in the move to digitalize nuclear plants throughout the United States.

Brad is a graduate of the University of Illinois with bachelor and master degrees in Nuclear Engineering; he received his NRC Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certification in 1999.
