Abstract

The RESRAD-OFFSITE computer code can be used to evaluate the radiological dose and or the excess cancer risk to an individual who is exposed while within and/or outside the area of initial (primary) contamination.

This user’s guide presents the basic information necessary to install and use the RESRADOFFSITE code. It describes how to download and install the code and then verify the installation of the code. It shows ways to navigate through the input screens to simulate various exposure scenarios and to view the results in graphics and text reports. It contains screen shots of each input form in the code and provides basic information about each parameter to increase the user’s understanding of the code. It outlines the contents of all the text reports and the graphical output. It also describes the commands in the two output viewers. It provides basic information about the probabilistic and sensitivity analysis tools available in the code and points to other documents that provide more detailed information and illustrate the use of these tools. It mentions the commands to facilitate inputting of externally edited data. It details the various ways of obtaining help in the code and points to the other documents that provide more detailed information about the inputs, the input forms and features/tools in the code. It describes the commands and features of the RESRAD Dose Conversion Factor Editor and illustrates how to create, export and import a user library.
