Metadata Term Definition
Award Number Alphanumerical field allowing NRC staff to uniquely identify contracts
POP Start (Period of Performance Start) Date which both parties agree that the terms of the contract will be in full effect. In general, it is the same date as the Award Date (Date which the contract is signed and made official by both parties)
POP End (Period of Performance End) Date which both parties agree that the terms of the contract will end.
Award Type Contractual obligation type between the NRC and commercial entity
Definitive Contract A Definitive Contract is a mutually binding legal relationship obligating the seller to furnish the supplies or services (including construction) and the buyer to pay for them. It includes all types of commitments that obligate the Government to an expenditure of appropriated funds and that, except as otherwise authorized, are in writing. In addition to bilateral instruments, contracts include (but are not limited to) awards and notices of awards; job orders or task letters issued under basic ordering agreements; letter contracts; orders, such as purchase orders, under which the contract becomes effective by written acceptance or performance; and bilateral contract modifications. Contracts do not include grants and cooperative agreements covered by 31 U.S.C. 6301, et seq. For discussion of various types of contracts, see Part 16.
Indefinite-Delivery Contract An indefinite-delivery contract may be used to acquire supplies and/or services when the exact times and/or exact quantities of future deliveries are not known at the time of contract award. Pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304d and section 303K of the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act of 1949, requirements contracts and indefinite-quantity contracts are also known as delivery order contracts or task order contracts. 
FSS-ORDER An indefinite delivery contract issued under GSA's Multiple Award Schedule using procedures under FAR Part 8.
Purchase Order A purchase of supplies and/or services using Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR Part 13 and in conjunction with FAR Part 12. 
BPA (Blanket Purchasing Agreement) A non-binding indefinite delivery agreement using procedures under FAR Part 13. 
FSS-BPA (Federal Supply Schedule Blanket Purchase Agreement) A non-binding indefinite delivery agreement using procedures in FAR Part 8 placed against an indefinite delivery contract issued under GSA's Multiple Award Schedule
GWAC (Government-Wide Acquisition Contract) GWACs are multiple-award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contracts that help agencies meet their technology requirements through a customizable, solutions-based approach.  Delegated under the procurement authority of the GSA.
