The External Civil Rights Program administers and assesses the Agency’s compliance and enforcement of Federal nondiscrimination laws and regulations to include:  Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; and the Age Discrimination Act of 1975. In providing federal financial assistance to a wide range of recipients including institutions of higher education, nonprofit organizations, and private corporations, the NRC ensures that no person is excluded from participation in, denied benefits of, or otherwise be subjected to discrimination under an NRC federally conducted and federally financially assisted program and/or activities.  Your rights provided under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 clearly states…

"No person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance".
